I just got back from Australia we were visiting Zack, and Sam. We had an awesome time! Zack, and Sam are great at finding animals and it was a great time going with them. We saw all diffrent kinds of birds, crocs, snakes, and wallabies. In the middle of are trip we got to go to the great barrier reef and we got to go snorkling and diving, it was awesome!!!!

Hi Alex. I know your dad from work. I think your hair cut looks great. This photo reminds me of when Johnny Damon (former Red Sox champion) got his hair cut to go play with the New York Yankees (now a Yankee chump). Truth is, he’s handsome either way. Just like you. Enjoy your excellent adventure!
Hey Handsome (or as Halmoni would say “Mee-nam-jah”!),
Everyone here (including James’s mom and sister) think you look older and more dashing with your new hair cut. (-;
Seeing your photos makes me miss you more, but I am so happy to read about what you guys are doing each day. It makes me feel that you are not so far away! Please write soon and tell us what you think of your new school — new friends, your teachers and classes… We love you!! xx Aunty Martha
Hi Alex,
Here’s a message from Tristan and Carolyn.
You look great with your new haircut. We sure are missing you and your family this fall! (this, obviously, is from Carolyn)
From Tristan:
Let me know when you see some cool animals!
We had our second soccer game today and won 3-0. My dad is going to send your family some pictures. Brendan and Sam Riley and I went bird-watching today after the game. We went to the Urban Horticulture Center and saw three new species.
What is happening at your new school?
Back to Carolyn….
Alex, soccer conditions here are very different from what we’ve been reading about in your dad’s postings! It rained a bit at today’s game – not a warm, balmy rain, either. Chilly weather here lately.
Starbuck and Simon miss seeing you at practices!
Take care, hug your family for us.
Carolyn
Hey Alex!
How’ve you been, and what do you think about Guam so far? Man, you’ve grown! You might be taller than me now.. haha. Nice haircut, I hope you meet a lot of good friends, and enjoy all the experiences that many other kids usually don’t get to have.
And don’t worry, you’ll get used to the uniforms if you haven’t already. It’s nice not having to worry about new/clean stuff to wear either.. heheh.
Later,
Mike
Hi Alex,
How’s it going? Have you seen any more rad animals? Let me know how you’re doing soon.
Scott
win did you git your her cut
Hi Alex,
Wow, people really like your haircut! Actually it looks good. ( I suppose that comment is “the kiss of death” for the hair cut ,coming from an adult).
Is the school hard? Are the classes big? How do you like riding the bus. Your Mom and her sisters had a lot of bus riding in their school years.
Post more pictures.
Love, Grandma
Hi Alex, Just a note to say I miss coming home after school to our three boys. And we really miss you on the soccer field. The team is doing okay, but the defense would be a lot better with you in there. I hope school is going okay for you. I remember going to Oregon State University on an exchange program when I was a junior in college. It was only for three months, but I was so home sick at the beginning. I didn’t know anyone and I was sure I’d made a big mistake, and I was a lot older than you. But then I met some friends and had a lot of fun. When I look back on it now, it was one of the funnest times I had in college. That’s how you’ll feel when you look back on your experience in Guam. Remember that it is only temporary, and try to enjoy all the new experiences while you’re there. It really will seem like it went by fast when it’s all over. We miss you! Dan
if you are going to travel come to guam and we can go to gab gab it is so cool the snorkling is great there are so many fish and the coral is so cool and you can find NEMO. You can also go to the best water park in guam TARZA it is so cool!!!!!
Hey Lal,
I cant wait to come there and go snorkling! How big is the water park? Hope to see you soon.
Scott
onward is a great water park . it is as good as tarza or beter but am not sure about wild waves.
tonight we were at a party and then people started runing over and it was a SNAKE!!!!!{a brown tree snake}
We went to Tarzan Pool. It is a natural pool with three foot freshwater eels swimming around in it. There were big fish. There was a rope swing and a lot of other little pools up and down river. When my dad jumped off the cliff, he tried to touch the bottom but he couldn’t.
I liked this hike to the pools. It was a really nice place to see, too.
Happy Birthday, Alex!
I am an old (!) co-worker of your parents.
My daughter Nora turned 12 (same as you) on March 5th (same as you). I think at one time I knew you and her were born the same day, but my memories drain out onto my pillow each night…so I had forgotten. You were at our house once in Virginia, so you met Nora…but you were rather young.
We’ll have to figure out what time you were born (eastern standard time) to see who’s older. Nora was born in the afternoon, around 3pm I think (noon Seattle time).
Hope you got good stuff. I got Nora a Tiki Barber NY Giants jersey. She likes the Giants, but she likes the name “Tiki.”
See ya!
Happy Bday Alex!
Sounds like you had a great bday weekend. Keep having fun.
Mike (Moon)
hey, alex
what’s up, what have you been doing, and what is it like (alot of whats, huh?). Well maybe it’s time for a change in words, except i have no idea, so……yeah, whatever, does everyone play soccer? Not everyone in guam, but everyone in your family, oh yeah, and kids i mean.
well you may not want to hear “me” talk so it is “i” who will speak now (if you at all care, which i hope you do). At your house what do you do for fun, write blogs on your page, play games, ping-pong, soccer, or just sit and sit some more? Oh yeah, i believe i can beat you in a game of ping-pong, first to 21, or 11, switch service every two points, and rally for service, got it?……oh and saying i can beat you is no A!P!R!I!L! F!O!O!L!S!….it could be but it isn’t,
those kites were awesome, they remind me of, cool kites i guess, oh well, i guess “i’” don’t have much to say, but i bet “you” does. Well except “you” are there, and “i” am here, and “i” am “me” ……..oh well just make sure “you” reply back….if you find out who “i” am, and who “me” is…..good luck “you”……>.
evry one in my family plays soccer except my mom. but right now I am not because we lost to many games and we can’t play in the tornement (but that is not how elli and davis’s leages works PS I can beat any one of you in ping pong
yesterday I learned scuba dive and now I am certified.
that is cool that you got a scuba diving license…what did you get to see?!
a shark?
I didn’t see any cool animals like a shark, octopus, or turtle yet while I was scuba diving. But I hope to see one soon. I did see an octopus while snorkeling one time.
I went diving last weekend with my dad and we dived at a wreck of an old ship, we went down to 60 ft (that is my limit). It was really cool because there were some air pockets but you couldn’t breathe the air because it was really bad.
What’s up Alex? You keepin’ up with life?? It was fun being in Korea with you and your family. =P
Anyway, keep practicing your breakdancing skillz and stay cool!!
