  2. 2 guammoonies September 8, 2006 at 11:28 pm

it smelled like toilets in the halls.

  3. 3 Mike September 9, 2006 at 2:15 am

    Ewww.. haha.

    Hi Elli!
    How have you been?
What did you think about Japan?

  4. 4 Gwen September 9, 2006 at 10:48 am

There are definitely some new smells permeating the indoor air here. I am sure the children will grow to love the smells in the hall. ewww. Elli you are so observant.

The tropical islands are so different from the continent. Is the water beautiful? What differences are you enjoying?

    Keep cool!

Tiolets in the halls??? Aren’t they supposed to be in the bathroom?

Hope you find a school you like. Have a great time over there.

    Love from the Kangs.

How come you have more responses to your blog page than your parents??

Lauren just sent you an email tonight…hopefully you got it! She’s a bit occupied with several hours of homework each night…you are lucky to just have smelly schools to worry about right now! Lauren has one of your pairs of pants (came home with us from Camano) – we’ll have to figure out how to get them to you before you grow!

Diego is giant – his ears actually fit his head now! Say hello to your bros…

    Hi,
I have a new school soccer uniform. It’s red and black. I have a lot of homework. How is Guam? What do you think of your new school? Does it smell bad?

    I miss you.
    Love, Lauren

    Hi Elli,

I know your dad from work. Stinky school halls call for old-fashioned measures. In colonial days in America (and likely long before that in Europe), women would keep perfume in a little bottle on a necklace to dab a drop below their nose when needed since hygiene was not real good back then (people were stinky — deodorant wasn’t invented yet). Someone told me about that at a colonial encampment I once visited here in New England when I bought a reproduction of an old perfume bottle necklace. Perhaps a little dab of lavender or a local, pure essence oil just below your nostrils would help mask offensive hallway odors? Ask mom and dad of course.

  38. 38 Laurie October 28, 2006 at 5:49 am

Hi Elli, I’m going to be Carmen’s mom for Halloween – big surprise! Sarah Balderston was over here tonight, and Sarah and Carmen put on their costumes and went trick-or-treating and came home with candy. Not so unusual except that Halloween is still four days away! Our neighbors are very nice.
Please post a picture of you and your hippy costume!
    Laurie

  39. 39 Lauren Myers November 6, 2006 at 5:16 am

    Hey Elli,
I really miss you. I was a hippy too for Halloween.
    What a coincidence!
My soccer team is doing really bad. We haven’t won one game and we are on our second to last one.
We are in the Gold division though so I think it will be okay. We still have the tournament.
I can’t wait to see you in Japan.
    Bye
    Lauren

  40. 40 Elise Myers November 6, 2006 at 5:23 am

    Hi Elli,
I was so surprised to see your Halloween picture. You looked just like Lauren. She wore her UCoop tie dye shirt. The only difference is that she had a blond wig, with white daisys in her hair! I had to go to Chicago for Halloween, so Lauren saved me a bag of her candy, and left it for me on my desk. I was very excited to see the chocolate when I got home!

The weather here is so cold and rainy. Lauren and I are going to Los Angeles next week for the West Coast Pony Finals. It is her last horse show of the year. I am learning a lot with Lauren’s new school! Her science class is really fun! They haven’t blown anything up yet, but they got to melt pennies (which I think is a federal crime to deface U.S. currency), but they separated the copper from the zinc.

Can’t wait to see you in Japan. Maggie and I are busy collecting information about places to see, since I know you kids all want to spend the week visiting every museum we can find! (just kidding). Love Elise

  41. 41 Lauren Myers November 30, 2006 at 12:43 pm

    Hey Elli,
How are you doing? I bet it is really hot and sunny there, unlike Seattle. Today is the secoind snow day in a row. I ‘ll probably have school tomorrow though. Diego loves to play in the snow and just today while I was at the barn, he jumped over a fence that was three feet high. That’s about as high as I jump on my horse. I can’t wait to see you in Japan. I really want to go jet skiing in Guam.
    Well, see you later.
    Lauren
P.S. It is really really cold here.

  42. 42 Lauren December 30, 2006 at 12:39 pm

    Hey Elli,

Those are a lot of braids.
    Have a great New Year.

    Lauren

  43. 43 Elise Myers January 8, 2007 at 9:17 am

Very cool braids. How long did it take to get them all out?? Your hair must have been really curly when you took them out.

We just took down our Christmas decorations today. Diego helped a lot (not really). Lauren and Tyler are up in the mountains skiing. I got an email from Tyler, and he said it was snowing like crazy, impossible to see, and snow so deep, you could hardly turn. I stayed home today – and am snug in the house with the fireplace on. Have you seen any good movies lately? We saw Happy Feet during the break. Lauren thought it was pretty good.

Hope you have a fun visit with your grandparents!

I have virtually no understanding of computer programming however I had been hoping to start my own blog in the near future.
Anyways, if you have any recommendations or techniques for new blog
owners please share. I understand this is off topic nevertheless I just had to ask.
    Many thanks!
